Seawater desalination plant

Desalination is the use of seawater desalination to produce fresh water. It is an open source incremental technology to realize the utilization of water resources. It can increase the total amount of fresh water, and is not affected by time, space and climate. It has good water quality and reasonable price, and can guarantee the stable water supply of coastal residents' drinking water and industrial boiler water replenish. The process of obtaining fresh water from sea water is called desalination. Seawater desalination methods used now include sea water freezing, electrodialysis, distillation, reverse osmosis method.

Equipment overview:

Desalination is the use of seawater desalination to produce fresh water. It is an open source incremental technology to realize the utilization of water resources. It can increase the total amount of fresh water, and is not affected by time, space and climate. It has good water quality and reasonable price, and can guarantee the stable water supply of coastal residents' drinking water and industrial boiler water replenish. The process of obtaining fresh water from sea water is called desalination. Seawater desalination methods used now include sea water freezing, electrodialysis, distillation, reverse osmosis method. At present, reverse osmosis method using reverse osmosis membrane rapidly occupies the market with its advantages of simple equipment, easy maintenance and modular equipment, and gradually replaces distillation method to become the most widely used method.

Seawater reverse osmosis is often called more than the filter method, is only in 1953 began to use a membrane separation desalination method. Seawater and fresh water are separated by a semi-permeable membrane which allows only solvent to pass through but not solute to pass through. The main advantage of reverse osmosis is energy saving. Its energy consumption is only 1/2 of electrodialysis and 1/40 of distillation. Therefore, since 1974, the United States and Japan and other developed countries have shifted their development focus to reverse osmosis method.

Reverse osmosis seawater desalination technology develops rapidly, and the project cost and operation cost continue to decrease. The main development trend is to reduce the operating pressure of reverse osmosis membrane, improve the recovery rate of reverse osmosis system, cheap and efficient pretreatment technology, and enhance the anti-pollution ability of the system.

Main features:

The removal of impurity range is wide, not only can remove the inorganic salt ions in water, but also can remove all kinds of organic impurities.

There is no phase change in the process of water separation, which has a high desalination rate (desalination rate up to 99.7%).

Large water production, small equipment volume, to achieve skid-mounted or according to the actual size of the site processing.

Low energy consumption, automatic operation, low investment cost.

Strong adaptability, wide application range, no environmental pollution and other advantages.

Operating conditions:

Based on the stable and safe operation of reverse osmosis system, the following inlet water requirements (outlet water requirements of pretreatment equipment) are proposed:

⑴ Pollution index SDI: ≤5

⑵ residual chlorine < 0.1mg/1(OT method)

⑶ Oxygen consumption < 2mg/1(Mn method)

⑷ Turbidity < 1.0NTU

⑸ Longriel index LSI < 0

The water temperature ranges from 5℃ to 35℃

Scope of application:

As the core treatment equipment of seawater desalination equipment, seawater reverse osmosis equipment has been widely used in the fields of seawater desalination, electronics, chemical industry, medicine, food, beverage, metallurgy and environmental protection with the pretreatment and follow-up desalination system.
